Highly recommend!
There will be Photo Pass photographers all around who are available to take your photo. And, there will be pictures from your rides that will be in your gallery on My Disney Experience. They are about $18.95 each if you want to have the prints.
The cost to purchase it ahead of time is $169. So, if you want 9 ride or castle photos, then I would definitely purchase it ahead of time.
Plus you get great photos like the ones attached. Just make sure to stop and do these opportunities as pictures like the ones attached are priceless. And have the girls take turn on who gets to scan in their magic band with the photographer or ride photos cause it’s fun to do.
Great idea, and no, it is not overkill. A lot of families do it! I haven’t spent the money on it cause I know my husband would not do it. One recommendation, just make sure it’s colorful so it easily stands out. Don’t do black or white! If you don’t want the same shirt, pick a color for each day. Like in Hollywood Studio, everyone is wearing Blue.
Also, take a picture each morning as you are leaving so you can remember what everyone wore that day in case you need help finding a lost child. I’ve only lost Bailey once in Disney World. Another story for another time.
My tip, wear a pair of tennis shoes on the plane, bring a pair of sandals in your carry on bag and then have a spare pair of tennis shoes in your
luggage.
There are only 1 ride working right now that you will get wet on, and that is in Animal Kingdom. Unless it rains, then your shoes are going to get
soaked. And you can guarantee it will rain sometime on you in Orlando.
That ride is Kali River Rapids. I'd suggest putting on sandals for this ride and ponchos.
I don't love walking 7 - 10 miles in sandals, so I always wear tennis shoes. Each person is different on this as my daughter loves her sandals. But, if
it rains, it's VERY tough to get tennis shoes dry for the next day. So, that is why it's good to have a 2nd pair on stand-bye. Also, if it doesn't
rain, sometimes it's just nice to switch up your shoes each mid-day or day. Each pair just wears on your foot a little differently when you are walking
that many miles EVERY day.
You'll want your sandals for around the resort and when going to the pool.
You must change your reservation time or cancel your reservation within 2 hours of your dining time. If you miss this window, you will be charged $10 per person that you had for the reservation. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/dining-reservations/restaurant-reservation-cancellation/
I typically recommend this is your first park after a travel day because it gets the family ready for the excitement, but not too overwhelming for the first day. It's a slower pace and not a late night so you can get back and enjoy the hotel.
Note Flight of Passage in Pandora is one of the top rated rides in Disney World. You just need to be 44 inches to ride it.
I highly recommend that if you are focusing on Disney, that you stay in a Disney Resort. They are affordable and worth it. Here is a list of the perks:
Enjoy more time in the parks - As a resort guest, you get to enter the park 30 minutes before onsite guests. And in a lot of cases, it's actually earlier that they let you into the park. But, the rides start for you 30 minutes prior to any outside guests can even enter the park. This is a great way to get some of the more popular rides in without having to wait in line. It's called Rope Dropping.
Disney Dining Plan - this is only available to guests staying onsite
Transportation - there is transportation from the resort to every park for FREE and it drops you off near the front gate. This includes bus, boat, skyliner or monorail - which all seem like a fun ride for kids.
The resorts offer a FREE activities EVERY DAY for kids! For example, a movie in the lawn at night, roasting marshmallows at a firepit and crafts by the pool.
You'll get a free pass for Minatare Golf with hotel & park ticket package.
